A Chocolate Bar Wrapper

Their hair glistened as though it was shellacked
The store window illuminat[ing] the sidewalk
He reaches his hand toward his wallet for his identity
So intent is he upon the future that he dangerously ignores the present

It has been a reckless, haphazard path
Retracing is impossible
The gate is double locked
                                                   fence cut
                                                              and rolled
into a cone

The houses are squat.
[They] have slowly sunk into the ground
[They were given a ] promise of a Saturday liquid sunshine
[They] smell [the] burning of leaves
stir[ing] memories of narrow lanes adrift with
Yellow Leaves

And quickly a certain untidiness creeps in
Cracked sidewalks with ridges of stiff grass
superficial variations
                                                   unease
                                                              nothing left
                                                                                ragged edges
                                                                                                    unkempt vacant lots
[along past] a plastic horse
[comes] a chocolate bar wrapper
[lost in] a little more that fragments

Exemplory thing.

1. Include 4 examples of parallel structure.2. Vary your sentence length. Include 4 very short sentences for effect.3. Juxtapose bizarre ideas with mundane ideas.4. Avoid beginning too many sentences with "I".
5. Make sure you have a creative conclusion.
The word normal, average, and alright are NOT in my vocabulary. I exceed highest expectations. God himself looks up to me. I've proved that gravity is a figment of our imagination twice. The Dictionary was built from words I don't use. I rise water from the ground to make lakes. Moses learned how to divide water from me. I created the Roman empire and then destroyed it. Dinosaurs died from me. I discovered the first Alien life form in Russia, I discovered the earth was round, and I discovered the miracle of birth. I taught my dog to roll over.

I wrote every sonnet William Shakespeare published. I composed Beethoven's 10th symphony. Steve Jobs created iPods from tools I gave him. I created the Pyramid of Giza from scraps of rock I found in the desert. People travel the world, I travel the universe. Magic? My invention. I once bench pressed the Twin towers. Men fear me, women run to me, children look up to me.  I lead the 12 disciple's to safety. The big bang happened because I told it to. I can talk to inanimate objects.

I hand wrote every book that was created, and made up authors name to put on them. I sweat sugar, I burp rainbows, and I spit hot sauce. I invented the wheel from an oval. I wrestled the first grizzly bear, I fought King Kong, and I have a woolly mammoth as a pet. I taught Caesar Millan his tricks, but I've never been to college.

Dear Mr. Cleats:

Hello, My name is Mitch Walton, I am a father of a child that is on your soccer team. I am faced with a decision. Take my son out of the sport that he loves, or send you a letter regarding my concerns. So here's as follows. As responsibility to the team, a coach should be arriving on time at the very least but be there before practice to help kids with problems and organize your practice. If this is not possible for you, perhaps ask a parent of the team to help run the warm up for practice. I have also notice the kids look a little bit lost and are standing around wondering what to do. Could you possible go further into information in telling the children the drill they are about to perform? I'm sure this would give a stronger, more organized appearance to your practice plan.

On a team sport, the coach has most influence on his players. He is the leader and kids look up to him. So the coach should remain a roll model to the kids so they have a good attitude towards playing. Yelling at them and other players gives off negative energy and kids tend to replay what they hear or see. So sportsmanlike is greatly effected by yelling at players. Perhaps resolve in a more professional manner rather than an outburst of anger.

The children are young. They are playing for fun and just to get experience. No one is ever going to gain any skill by riding the pine at this young of age. If anything, it will turn them off of the sport and there wont be a youth group to replace the older generations. And without there is no job for you so it a double negative and a lose-lose situation. Seeing as the children are so young and just want to have fun in the games; would it be possible to have a less emphasis on winning and more on just having fun. Because with fun comes winning and competition and if you don't have fun, your not actually winning at all.

These are just ideas that are on my mind that may be able to help tighten up your team. And I, and other parents, would love to see a change in our children's sports and are more than happy to help you out with any thing you need

Sincerely

Mitch Walton

Moral Dilemma #3

John Smith
Mayor
City Hall 568 Main Street
Small Village, B.C.

Dear Mr. Smith:

Gunther Grass' secret should be push down under and buried forever. The man is already 92 years of age and has been a model citizen for years and years. People on our town rely on him greatly and the uncovering of this crucial information, would break the hearts of all. Its no secret that he's helping several family survive in this town and if Mr. Grass' secret was revealed, then they would skyrocket on a downwards spiral towards rock bottom.

As well, Gunther Grass, being involved in this war, may have been forced into doing the actions he had partaken in. With a gun put up to your head saying do this or die, not many would take the high road and take a bullet to the brain. Yes, the amount of people that died from him is high, but think of the many many lives that he has saved since. Actions cause reaction and obviously his actions caused him to change for the better of humanity.

Whether the family of Mr. Grass knows that he was a Nazi war criminal of not, he is still a family member today and a father of three. With grandchildren loving their grandfather and losing him in a cruel way would be just as bad as the actions he has performed earlier. Bringing him down in no better than his earlier actions. Mr.Grass has redeemed himself and he deserves to live the rest of his life in peace, away from his haunting shameful past.

Sincerely,

Mitch Walton

Assignment #2 Grade 12

Along a windy dusty trail, that leads to a place of frustration, responsibility, and freedom, lies a path we all must take. There is no avoiding it. Although there are many alternative routes to get there. Some people take the high road, and work hard to discover the secret of a happiness; and others take the path that's right in front of them and is straight and simple. Bare minimum effort is involved with walking this road. The creative people learn many things along the way. Learning their role in life; their role to the world. On this path, we learn valuable life skills. Check points on this vary from the lower level, middle level and finally the ending checkpoint that is gives you the sight of the end. Were nervous, Were sweating, were desperately crying out for help. Something to give us a hold of something! Standing on the gold plated pathway to achievement are we still are finding fear within our self. Nobody wants to take a step closer, but nobody wants to take a step back or stay longer than they must. Slowly we creep forward. Foot after foot, single file down the path. In the distance there is a form. From this position we can not make out the form, all we can tell is that its flat and people keep going on and off of it. As if time all of a sudden skipped ahead of us, over our heads and back behind us. How did we manage to lose track of this time? Suddenly were there, we see it. We approach the form shaking with anxiety. We've reached the edge. We hear a voice over a system. It's my name. Alone, all alone, I hold back, and move with hardly a crawl towards the destination. I feel as if I'm watching myself stand there, I look pathetic. But after a second look, I look and feel proud! The man voice in front of me all of a sudden catches my ear drums and I hear " Congratulations Mitch, you've graduated.

Blog assignment #2

Scenario one: George looked up from shoeing the horse to see the outline of Curley's wife in the doorway of the barn. They were alone.
Curley's wife had entered the musky darn barn, she focused on the task at hand. She needed some loving. Curley doesn't give her the attention she so desperately craves. Some say, Curley and her are a closely knit family, but they couldn't be more wrong. At the crack of dawn, she had advanced into the room.
George, not expecting this at all, said " Well you just stick like glue don't you!"
"Well George, you just send chills up my spine" Curley's wife responded. She had been eyeing George since the moment he walked onto that farm. She had a situation where she had to make it or break it. She wanted this man in her life, to stick by her through thick and thin.
George not sure what to take from this said " Well this tops the list of strange occurrences since I've been here. What can I help you with?" he felt as if she was going to pull one over on him.
Curley's wife had done this so many times, she knew the process like the back of her hand. " Well your a very handsome man to say the least. I haven't seen a man like you around here for ages; and I need a companion. A man that can handle me, a man whose not afraid of a little danger, a little excitement. Some one who can sweep me off my feet. " . After a long hard stern look of thought and concentration, Curleys wife noticed the change in expression in Georges face, a look of playful intensity. Got him. He fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.
"Well when you state it that way, there ain't no way I can say no to that." . After this being stated, and the look of accomplishment in Curley's Wifes' eyes, George knew he got her. Playing his excitement up to make her think he fell for her cheesy "pick up line". It was a breeze to pull that over on this floozy.
